JOSHUA AYALA
My name is Joshua Ayala. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in Laveen, Arizona. I attended Roosevelt District School Southwest. I am married with two children and have owned a financial services company for ten years, having been in the financial services industry for twenty-one years.
I believe in God and am very passionate about our community. These are some of the many reasons why I am running for the State Senate. I have three primary focuses: unity, family, and safety for our area of Laveen, South Phoenix, and Guadalupe.
Unity is crucial because, growing up in these areas as a mixed-race individual, I faced many struggles, including segregation. To promote unity, I will support policies that encourage individual responsibility and community involvement, ensuring everyone has a voice in local decisions. By partnering with local businesses and organizations, we can strengthen our community bonds and create a more unified and prosperous future.
Family is the cornerstone of our community. As a fifth-generation Arizonan, I know that increasing programs and supporting policies promoting family values and natalism is vital to a healthy, growing community. We should make it easier for families to live – not harder.
Safety is essential for our area, especially as drug use and homelessness increase. I aim to work with city officials to enhance policing. I have experienced firsthand the delays in police response; when my home was broken into, it took over three hours for the police to arrive. In contrast, when I lived in Ahwatukee, my niece accidentally dialed the police, and they arrived in under five minutes. I will work diligently to ensure our community receives the same response time and treatment.
